On running expands Cyclon range with fully recyclable t-shirt

Swiss sportswear brand On running is now offering customers a fully recyclable t-shirt, the Cyclon-T.

Cyclon: On running’s sustainability program

The brand’s circular subscription program is their first project devoted to exploring sustainability and circularity in performance running.

Subscribers receive, wear and return their products, which are then recycled and transformed into future On gear. This circularity is one big loop of renewable energy that showcases the incredible things that happen when humans move.

On running launched the initiative in 2022. It started with the world’s first fully recyclable running shoe, Cloudneo.

The program offers subscribers exclusive 100% recyclable, bio-based products on a cyclical subscription. Runners wear the kit until its worn out, before returning it to be recycled and repeated.

Now, subscribers can double up their run with a t-shirt they’ll never trash: the high performance Cyclon-T. It can also be purchased in a one-off sale.

A vision for sustainability

Just like the Cloudneo running shoe, the Cyclon-T is made with castor beans. This is a bio-based material, making it fully recyclable. The t-shirt will come in an un-dyed white color and is built for performance, as well as aiding sustainable running.

Co-Founder of On running, Caspar Coppetti, has big hopes for sustainability within the brand. “We are very excited that we are growing our offer of fully recyclable and circular products. This launch is one further step in our long-term vision to become fully circular by the end of the decade.”

When a Cyclon product reaches its end of life, it can be returned to On in any box available. Just like its predecessor the Cloudneo trainer, the Cyclon-T can be recycled together in the Cyclon service.

On’s mission is to keep their products out of landfills and minimize impact on the planet, while simultaneously maximizing the benefits for runners.
