The London Landmarks Half Marathon is one of the capital’s most iconic and coveted races. It’s a 100% not-for-profit event organized by charity Tommy’s.
Tommy’s is a national charity that works to reduce the UK’s rates of miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth. The charity funds medical research to discover the causes of baby loss. It also provides support to women and birthing people at every stage of their pregnancy journeys.
Running the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2024 is a brilliant way of seeing the capital and its stunning sights. Not quite ready for the full London Marathon? This race is for you.
The 2023 event was the biggest yet, with the streets of London being filled with over 17.00 runners. And, for the first time, wheelchair participants took to the capital, raising money for causes close to their hearts.
£10.3m was raised as part of the 2023 event, the most in its history.
ballot information
As this race is so popular, entry is gained via a ballot system, much like for the full marathon. You don’t have long – the ballot is open for one week and closes at midday on Wednesday 21 June 2023.
The ballot itself is free to enter. If you’re lucky enough to bag yourself a place, you’ll then pay £61.50 + £2.49 booking fee to secure your place on the start line.
If you’re not lucky enough to gain a place the first time around, don’t despair. Following the announcement of the main ballot, all unsuccessful ballot applicants will automatically be entered into a second chance ballot for free. This is so that any unclaimed main ballot places can still be used.
Those unsuccessful in the ballot can run for one of the event’s 500+ charity partners. These include: Alzheimer’s Research UK, Cancer Research UK, Macmillan, Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, Prostate Cancer UK and the British Heart Foundation.
You can enter the ballot here.
